Pretty is so arbitrary. I have spend my whole life wishing, aching and trying to reach new levels of pretty, but I have come to realize that being pretty is a stupid and selfish goal. I mean, if I am not pretty then I shouldn’t waste my time trying for it, but if I am, not realizing it should make me more beautiful. I should spend my time focusing on others. Besides, pretty won’t last. Beauty will. 1 Peter 3:3-4~Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

   I have spent countless hours staring at myself in front of the mirror, adjusting my clothes and hair just so that it will be perfect… but what is the use? Honestly. It won’t last, and I want people to judge me based on my personality and what’s inside, not my outward appearance. I pray that the lord will continue to make me beautiful INSIDE and help me to realize that the outside just doesn’t matter. I want to take care of my body, but not obsess over it.
